So it is work from home day whatever. I don’t know, I’ve stopped counting. I thought I would share some links to some resources that I have found helpful with keeping informed data-wise with ol’ Big-Rona. I’ll order them in the amount of information from globally to locally. This will be Illinois specific, but you’ll get the idea if you live in another state and will be able to find corresponding information for whichever place you live in.
- Johns Hopkins Map – Pretty useful for the worldwide overview
- New York Times United States – Great graphs and maps for an overview of the US
- NYT Metro Area Tracker – Good for metro area comparisons.
- State of Illinois NYT Map – I like the county by county rates. However, due to the size of Chicago, its data overshadows the rest of the state.
- Illinois Department of Public Health – Lots of good information here including all the Restore IL documentation. I wish these documents showed what the normal ICU and hospitalization rates were in non-pandemic times. I also wish that there was more differentiation between total cases to date and current cases. Both values are important and valuable, but are measuring different things.
- Champaign County Department of Public Health – Excellent for getting a picture of what things are like in Champaign County. I wish that they graphed the number of tests given per day.
- Champaign County Restaurant Hours
- Chambana Moms – Wonderful all of the time, Chambana Moms has great resources for what’s available right now for kids and families.
These are my go-to links and I hope you find them useful. Are there any other sources of information you find informative? Let me know!
More next time!
